Cherry picken with my littles!

Cherries, cherries and more cherries. Our tree was loaded this year. We had never attempted to make jelly before but it is super simple. Cherries, pectin, sugar and water. You do need a few tools...a large pan, jelly jars with lids and a little bit ou time. I suggest the "Ball" canning book for ideas and instructions on how to can. We spent most of our day picking and making the jelly. It was fun and I look forward to doing some other types of jellies as well.

Back to blogging

Wow!! I have been away a long time, but thought I would get back in the bloggie saddle again . I decided not to worry so much about posting the perfect post, but instead what is on my mind that day. This last year has been a blure...So much has happened and we have had so much change in our lives. In the last year I went back to work full time and could not keep up with all the demands in my life....four kids moving to a fixer upper and working a retail job fifty hours a week was more than I could physically handle. I missed my kids and my life. My husband and I sat down one night and made a budget and discovered I wasn't making as much money as I thought. He had recieved a raise and we decided if we changed a few things we could afford for me to be at home again.
My daughter turned 18 and graduated from highschool...that was quite an undertaking. She had several senior projects due at the end of the year that were very time consuming. We had a big graduation party with about 100 people at least...it was a open house and I lost track of all the people coming and going. It was a great day with lots of family and friends. I will post later about some things I learned and how to save money on senior year items. My son will be a senior this year so we will be doing it all over again.
My life has changed, so the things I blog about may change as well. The thing that will never change is talking about ways to save money...I love getting great deals!! I will also always talk about my family...my family is everything to me. I moved back to my home town where all my extended family lives...I have 26 first cousins and most all of them live within about an hour of me. We have regular family get-together's and I cherish I those moments spent with them. It feel so good to be back home with my family doing what I was ment to do...be a mom and a wife and take care of my family.
As far as blogging goes, I have so many ideas in my head all the time, that I like to get them out and into writing. I love to go back and read stuff from older post to see how things have changed in our life. I also find I get more projects done when I think that I can share them.
Since I worked a scrapbooking store I will be posting more about papercrafting and scrapbooking. I is a passion for me and love having a reason to make stuff.

Well, enough about that and on to my topic for today. I want to talk about front porches. We plan to reside our house and put a new front porch on. I LOVE PORCHES....I just think its such a nice place to gather at theend of the day or a place to have a cup of coffee in the morning. I have been dreaming of one for many years now. I have posted some images of porches and swings that have inspired me .
And, as for today, my husband is working on replacing windows in the kitchen. I told you all that my house is a fixer-upper...well thats an understatment, there is so much to be done I don't know where to even start. I will post some list of my "to do's" soon.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
